Deb is a single mom who was raised in a military family. She was one of the first Native American women in the country to head a state party as chair of the New Mexico Democratic Party. Putting action to values, Deb led the divestment of the Democratic Party of New Mexico from Wells Fargo due to their significant investments in the Dakota Access Pipeline and for-profit immigration detention facilities. Deb is also a recognized leader in tribal business and services community.
