Governor, Vermont

One of Christine's top priorities is addressing the high rate of rural poverty in Vermont. She promotes a plan for every home and business in the state to be connected with fiber-optic cable to increase internet speed and boost economic development. Christine is a proponent of raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, enacting paid family leave, working toward single-payer health care, and revamping the school funding structure. If she wins in November, Christine would be the first transgender person elected as governor in the United States. She told The Guardian about her historic race, "I tell people this isn't the hardest thing I ever did. In fact, I think after transitioning, everything else looks pretty easy." In addition to MoveOn, Christine has been endorsed by the Working Families Party, Pride Fund to End Gun Violence, Justice Democrats, LPAC, Women for Justice, LGBTQ Victory Fund, #VOTEPROCHOICE, and other progressive elected officials and institutions.

"Christine understands the struggles of marginalized populations. She is for many of the things we progressives want and need in Vermont and also has an understanding of the Vermont economy." –Nicole from Burlington
