Jared is a transformational leader with a track record of success. He is a Colorado native, an entrepreneur, and a committed public servant. He has helped build numerous successful businesses, founding ProFlowers and American Information Systems. He has also founded Techstars, a startup accelerator where he mentored entrepreneurs from all walks of life, and Patriot Boot Camp, which helps veterans start their own small businesses after coming home from their service. He served as the chair of the State Board of Education and is the current U.S. representative for Congressional District 2, where he stood with President Barack Obama to pass landmark health care reform, rein in the excesses of Wall Street, provide more opportunities to young immigrants, and protect Colorado's iconic public lands. As the progressive candidate in the race, Jared is stepping up to be a powerful voice for the residents of Colorado. In addition to gaining the endorsement of MoveOn members, he has also been endorsed by a wide range of organizations and individuals such as the LGBTQ Victory Fund, NARAL, Conservation Colorado, the Sierra Club, the Humane Society Legislative Fund, U.S. Congressman John Lewis, and over 2,000 local and national leaders across Colorado.
"MoveOn should endorse Jared Polis for governor because he cares about providing opportunities to immigrants and protecting public land. He also has succeeded as a businessman and supports many progressive causes, including LGBTQ rights, immigrant rights, and helping veterans." –Justin from Denver
