Josie is committed to fighting for higher wages, working toward lower health care costs, and assuring equitable access to education. She has experience working for small businesses, nonprofits, and in education as a Teach for America alumna. Her work in all of these capacities has been to fight for racial and gender equity. Josie's primary issues are standing with workers by raising the minimum wage and enacting paid family and sick leave, implementing or working toward universal health care coverage, and expanding educational equity through offering pre-K and providing effective wrap-around services for schools until they are no longer needed.
"I'm surprised there's even a question on whether to endorse in this race. Josie is the only Democratic candidate for an open, previously Democratic seat in the Kentucky House. Unless someone thinks a Republican would be better, she is the only choice for District 31." —Steve from Louisville
