Attorney General, Texas

Justin lives with his wife and kids in Austin, TX, and works as an attorney at Susman Godfrey LLP. He is also a professor at the University of Texas Law School. He was a former clerk for Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, and he is now recognized as one of Texas' "Super Lawyers." Justin is the founder of "One Nation One Vote," a nonprofit organization that aims to move presidential elections toward the popular vote instead of the Electoral College and to fight gerrymandering across the country. One of Justin's biggest issues that he's running on is to fight gerrymandering. With the census in 2020 likely giving more congressional districts to Texas, Justin wants to make sure that these districts are not drawn by the state legislature in 2021 with a partisan mindset but, instead, in an equitable way where all citizens have representation. Justin has been endorsed by the Democratic Attorneys General Association, Progress Texas, and the AFL-CIO Texas.

"I attended a presentation that Justin gave. He says the attorney general should not be a partisan vote but should represent all the people. He is one of the best-educated attorneys in Texas constitutional law. I can’t give all the reasons, but I know he would represent all of Texas to the best of his ability. I was very impressed with meeting him and sent him a contribution." –Pete from Kerrville
