Public Service Commission Place 2, Alabama

Kari is a community advocate who will push for fairer rates and more accountability. She is an active member of her community through her work with Faith in Action Alabama and as a volunteer for The Bell Center for Early Intervention. She is committed to lowering energy bills in Alabama, the state with the highest energy bills in the nation, based on rates and usage. If elected to the PSC, Kari will push the commission to be more transparent to ensure that Alabamians are not overcharged for the services they rely on. That includes removing the solar tariff and awarding tax credits to those who are using solar energy in Alabama.

"We should support Kari Powell for the PSC, because she will help remove the unfair PSC restrictions on the private use of clean energy technologies such as solar and will support a fair and equitable public utility price structure that does not penalize consumers for the benefit of investors."–Steve from Madison
