Kyra is running on a platform to eliminate discriminatory practices by insurance companies that base premiums on ZIP Code, credit score, and gender; ensure affordable patient care for all Michiganders; and propose a more equitable funding model for public education in Michigan. She is a practicing attorney in Michigan who grew up in Southfield and has anchored her family in the community since then. She is a product of Southfield public education and continued to serve her community ever since her primary school days. She is serving as the commissioner on the Total Living Commission for the City of Southfield and serves as a member of the State Bar of Michigan, National Congress of Black Women–Oakland County, Wolverine Bar Association, Women Lawyers of Michigan, and Southfield/Lathrup Village Democratic Club.
